Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist currently competing at flyweight in the UFC. She is also the elder sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champion and the fellow UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her career as a Muay Thai kickboxer. Her debut was in 2003 at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the event and beat Suzane Milliner by unanimous decision. Antonina received a gold medal in 2007, a silver medal in 2008, a silver in 2007 and an award of bronze in 2008 and then a with gold in 2011. She was also crowned IFMA World Amateur Muay Thailand Champion in 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia began her professional career 2003. She took home the World K-1 Championships of WKC Light Welterweight in 2012 as well as the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships and Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina last fought against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas, in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won the fight via unanimous decision. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut took place in 2002, during the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She was victorious by second round TKO and also won her subsequent 2-fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003 to amass an overall record of 3-0. Shevchenko was absent from MMA to focus on kickboxing. She returned to the ring against Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa by unanimous decision before she fought Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She resigned from the organization and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina demonstrated her power of striking by tying Nievera using knees. After this win, Antonina was given an UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Strikes Finale in the fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko fell to Roxanne Modafferi via split decision following her first fight. Antonina returned to the ring after losing and defeated Lucie Pudddilova on UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission during the second round. This fight earned Antonina the Bonus Fight of the Night. Shevchenko lost to Katlyn and Andrea Lee in three of her subsequent fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski, and also defeated Ariane. Antonina lost to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO during UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
